The first one it took me a while to figure out what it was.

I like the second one, but I think it would be far better if the camera was aimed down a bit more.

They both seem very dark. What i mean by that is that there is much more black in the pictures than white so they become a little confusing like in your duck picture. The second one was much more balanced though. Good job for your first time!
