Need camera for hd timelapse

I would like to get into astrophotography and time-lapse videos, as I've never had done this before I don't know where to start can some one give some guidance on what budget camera to get that would be best for time-lapse videos?

I was thinking about Canon M3 but not sure

Are you looking to do light or infrared, what telescope are you using, are you shooting planets or nebulae?
