Need help noob

Thanks for suggesting the book understanding exposure it has been great and has taught me a lot about ISO aperture and shutter speed and I've just scratched the surface but now manual mode doesn't scare me as much. As far as a lens goes there not as pricy as I thought I'd seen some in the 500+ range and looking I found a tameron 70-300 for under 200 online. I know there are better more expensive lenses but woul this be a decent lens for beginners. Also I don't have editing software yet are there any good softwares out there for me that are not so complicated. I've been playing around on my iPhone 7 with filterstorm Neue and while I've produced some decent photos (at least I think there decent) a lot of the software might as well be written in Chinese. Dang photography's a lot more involved than I thought I have a new respect for you all lol
