Need help on lens cleaning

I have a canon powershot S3 IS and when i took it out today i noticed a little brown speck in the corner of the pics i took. i tried cleaning it sevaral times and it still wont come off. do i need to get a new camera or are there places that will do a cleaning?

It depends on whether the speck is internal or external (on the sensor or the lens). If it's on the lens, it's fairly easy to clean; the sensor of a compact camera might be expensive to have cleaned however, it's fairly unusual to get dust on the sensor (In a P&S) can you post an image or two as examples?
