Tonight in my quest to learn lighting I tried split lighting and ended up with a new avatar

In my first post today I got some feedback about focusing attention on the eyes so I tried to do that in this one.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out but would love to hear your thoughts on how it could be improved by either the reluctant model or the photographer

the picture of you looks apprehensive at full size, but not reduced to avatar size. i've found also that some pictures where i feel i look relaxed, make me look serious at avatar size. the eyes look good, but the mouth tense.

Not so sure about my own avatar now that you mention it. I mean it is the best selfie I have, but still I think I missed the "whimsical" look I was shooting for.. lol

I'd also go in and burn the teeth a bit and darken that area, I was drawn to the teeth in there haha. Other than that, good stuff

Thanks 71M! The model is really hard to work with

lol I can get on board with that for sure, honestly I have zero clue what to do and you are right, I was tense, maybe next time I'll have a couple drinks before I try again lol!
