New Camera Help / Advice

Hi.

I travel a lot for work and for fun and enjoy taking photos along the way. I have been shooting on a 5 year old DSLR Canon Rebel, and it has taken a beating. I am ready for something new but am very confused on what to get. I want something that will hold up well when it comes to travel, and that is flexible in numerous shooting situations.

Do I just get the Canon Ti2 or should I be looking at the D60 (or D50) or the Nikon D7000? I am working with a budget of around 1,100-1,200 which I know is limiting.

Any advice would be great!
