New flash worth the money?

I am currently shooting with a D100, which I sold an F100 to purchase. My flash is the SB-28, which does not work in TTL mode with the D100. My questions are, is the TTL worth buying a new flash? I assume yes. In that case, how noticeable is the quality/feature difference between the SB80DX and the SB800. My 28 is on par with the SB800 in terms of quality, but that is a lot of money considering I do have a high quality working flash right now.

Did you use the TTL much on your F100? The D100 (DTTL) is not known for it's flash ability anyway. My Sb 28 works pretty well in auto mode So I guess I would just go with that for a while and save up for a Sb 800 to use on the inevitable upgrade.
