New guy... got some photos, Advice?

Thought ide say Hi and show you guys/gals some photos I took with my new canon 600d. Its my first DSLR and ive had it a few days now. Before this camera I used a kodak point and shoot. I mostly like shooting action shots and night time scenery, especially in the desert since thats my hobby besides the one I just got into hehe:mrgreen:. Any advice for my style would be much appreciated!

Don't post them so big.

Think about the presentation. Leave some space so each photo can stand on it's own, rather than jamming them together.

The long side of landscape framing should be uploaded at about 1000 pixels and with vertical framing the long side should be about 700 pixels.

I like the truck flying through the air. Also for night time shots id say get a trigger so you can do really long exposures.

The middle photo is by far the most visually appealing.

I see where you were going with the first one, but it isn't exposed correctly. Had it been, I think the composition would have worked quite nicely.

The last one doesn't do much for me. Looks like a good time though

The shots are cool action shots and the deep color in #2 is great.

Looking at #2 and #3, possibly get lower and use the earth as the 2/3rds of the shot instead of the sky. I think this would give a more appealing angle and easily create more detail to compliment the truck. You'd still have the excitment of the truck as the main subject taking it higher in the frame as a result.
You could even zoom in a little more or crop to get rid of that wasted space to the right and left.

Im not sure why they're so small... uploaded full size to photobucket. the first photo i didnt have a tripod and was my first night with camera so I just used the no flash mode instead of manual modes. second one i edited a little bit. my biggest problem is stuff is not very focused, guess its just gonna take some learning and practice .is it the kit lens im using? How do you keep a sequence shot in focus for more then one picture?
