New here! Need some criticism

Hi! New here from PA. I'm glad I found this forum. I've had my camera for almost a year now and starting to shoot in manual. Just as a hobby, I'm trying to learn new things. I shot my nephew today and need some criticism. I'm having a hard time with editing, still trying to learn the basics. Any advice would be appreciated!

I shot with a canon rebel, 50mm 2.8f and ISO 800.

*I apologize if the pictures are huge! I can't figure out how to make them smaller

Thats ok! They are not bad for one of ur first dealing with young children but I would tone down the airbrushing!

Yeah I figured! I just used a surface blur and couldn't figure out if it was "too much" and at what point to stop. My husband was no help when I asked. lol

LOL just reduce the opacity on the layer to like 45% then see how it looks
