Hello all, I am new to photography and just recently got a Nikon D5000. I am learning as I go and am looking forward to feedback.

nice enough subjects, work on placing them in the frame differently. The airborne bird for example will look nicer in the right 1/3 of the frame appearing to fly into it. The long legged friend just a tad more to the right as well!

Agree with Trever, additionally consider using spot metering in situations such as #2 to ensure correct exposure of the bird against a bright sky.
