New to flickr and here.....how do you put photos up on here?

i have just put a thread and now i know how to do it.. i've thought of a new Q to ask...a few actually

i just saw someone put up a mes asking for contacts on flickr. i am new too, havent really got the hang of it all yet, and looking for actual contacts, i have only been able to access groups so far. Anyone up for making me a contact/ friend on there? itd be much appreciated

my other Q is how you you actually put photos up here? i've only just figured out how to mes. i'd love to get as much feedback as poss

use a hosting site like photobucket.com then you copy the image link or Direct link thing and past it on the reply box on here:thumbup:

What if I want to upload it to the gallery thing?

In Flickr, click on your pic you like and have uploaded to your photo stream and select "Share This" right above the photo.
You'll then see a drop down list, and select "Grab the HTML/BB Code"

Make sure it's on "BB Code" from the two buttons (do not select HTML), select your size and then copy/paste in all that code you see into a message here. The code looks like a mess, but it'll work just fine.

Then add me to your Flickr contacts LOL.
(Shameless plug as I'm new to Flickr too)

Flickr is an image host - you don't need anything else (plus its miles better than photobucket!)

For flickr photos do the following:

1) go to the photo you want to add here

2) right click on the photo and select the size you want (typically under 1000 pixels)

3) On the new page that opens right click on the photo itself and go to properties. Then copy the text in the URL/Address bar that appears

4) Come here and start a new thread/post and use image tags. That is
[ img paste the address text here[ /img ]
Note when you use the image tags remove the spaces (I've used them in the example so it won't engage by accident)

5) If you want to show a version larger than that just past the URL link into the thread (once you've posted enough to allow you to post URLs)
