Sorta deflating seeing Matt's amazing Eagle shot. I'm still out there trying as often as possible. The Eagles here don't seem to fish. They are still scavenging on a fish kill from January.. Still had a few white heads in the viewfinder this morning.. comments welcome..

Well, WELCOME to MY world, Kris. Matthew's eagle shot, Jacaranda's wife's mating kestrels, and your...everything else shots...I feel like a backwards, drunk chimpanzee with a camera most of the time! :lmao:

These are stunning shots. I'd be thrilled to have those to be depressed about in my portfolio. :D

Nice set. Ya those eagle shots of MathewO's are outstanding so we've got to step up our game.

any shot of an eagle is cool and these look fine

Thanks everyone!
Nice shots Kris, especially like the last 2. Were you using the 7100 again ?
The D7100 nd the Siggy 120-300 with 2x. I think I shot these between f8 and f11.. The first one is actually at ISO 3200

Did you go to RI yet?

yeah cause these are pretty much awful.

looks great to me. And I have new respect for bird shooters and I couldn't do it. tried for two hours. Panning I lose them in the view have to back out the zoom then lose them again, back out the zoom loose them again. Held the camera in one spot, hoping one would just happen to fly by. Hit the shutter and, nope, totally missed it. Probably more than two hours probably more like three. And I got basically nothing. wings too (if flapping I had some trouble with, blurry) moved up the shutter again, course then in dim light 4 get about it. came out horrible.
new respect for bird shooters, just sayn. Its harder than I thought but after seeing pics on here thought I would try it. wow, did I have trouble.

the only thing that I dislike is that all these great photos are making me think more and more and more that I need that 150-600 lens to go start shooting birds. I also was looking around and apparently a bunch of bald eagles go to the Monroe nuclear power plant as the water discharge keeps the water free and they can get alot of fish around there.

great photos as usual !!

lol you guys are too funny...

I like 2 and 3 the most. I have grown to like those shots with the trees out slightly out of focus yet the eagle jumps out enough as to not be distracting.
