Here's my situation: A friend asked me to shoot his sister's wedding reception, which I agreed to thinking it would just be me running around getting candid shots. Easy.

She contacts me and would like to do a photo booth. The problem is that I only have access to a Speedlite 430EX II, as I don't do much flash photography. Their budget won't allow for me to rent strobes, umbrellas, etc... So can I get away with just using my 5DMKII and the 430EX II mounted on-camera and simply bounced, or would that not be a good setup for a "photo booth"? Thanks!

Better make some examples and show them to the bride. I think they could work quite well, but it's not my wedding.

That's actually a great idea! I'll just set up a backdrop and attempt to mimic the lighting situation at home, since I'm familiar with the venue. Thanks!
