What's new

on location shoots

Less is more, but there are a few basic things I always bring along. Camera, lenses, four reflectors (gold, silver, white, and diffuser), and any little props that I want to incorporate. They can be as simple as bubbles for kids to play with, an ornate chair or simple chair for posing, a colorful scarf, or any number of things depending on what you're hoping to achieve with the shoot. I also always bring a bottle of water for myself and for whoever I'm shooting...and make sure to wear non color casting clothing and comfortable shoes.

Honestly, I pack to the max. You just never know what you might want to do. You dont have to unload it all, but if I am on location and I want to overpower the ambient light and all I brought was a single flash....but I didnt think I would need a strobe. Well then you are stuck dealing with your current conditions and have to "make do" with less than ideal situations. Pack it if you have it!

loving the pelican cases...too bad they dont drop the price by about 75%!!

Why not? Just because you bring something doesn't mean you have to use it, but the Photographer's corollary to Murphy's Law clearly states that, "The one piece of gear you don't bring to a shoot is the one piece of gear which would have made the difference between success and failure". If I'm shooting, "travel light" is NOT in my vocabulary.
