Just looking for some C&C on composition, lighting, and pose.

I know the shadows on the right of my face are harsh, I need to get a reflector. I was told my pose looks a little tense by two different people. I was comfortable though

Lighting was two 45W constant lights, one bare behind me about two feet from the wall and one foot from me, and the other was also a 45W camera right, raised, with a snoot.

Exif:
Exposure: 1/20th
Aperture: f2.8
Focal: 50mm
ISO: 800
Subject Distance: 5.5 feet

Thank you for any helps and tips!

it looks very cut and paste to me

You need a diffuser as well, even if its just a tissue, try again with the snoot & tissue. Lol I almost wrote snot and tissue.

I thinks it's alright, not great but ok. You already mentioned the shadows and the pose, there's also a light spot on top of your head that draws my eyes. Not too shabby :)

MissCream, your avatar is so distracting ;)

I don't think you're tense, I think you're forcing a smile. This is an issue for me too, that's why when I practice lighting on myself now, I've given up on trying to smile. Aside from your facial expression the pose is great, including the angle of your face to the light. I think the composition is perfect as well.

As for the harsh light you could use a diffuser for your main light as someone suggested above. For fill you could use a white board camera left, or position yourself close to a white wall. That will solve your shadow problem.

I would also suggest diffusing the background light. The change from white to red is a little extreme for me, and I think it takes away from you, the subject. That's just my 2 cents =).

Nice job.

Edited: ISO 800, now I see why the background light seems so abrupt and noisy. I guess you couldn't go any lower with the lights you had.
