I've never actually smelled one. We have a great variety here but can't say I've noticed an adverse aroma from them.

I think these set on the scent if they are physically disturbed; certainly in crushed. When they get in the apartment, we just get them back outside.

Ah, I've never crushed one to see if it smells. Interesting that you get them indoors, can't say I've seen one inside a building.

They are everywhere here in upstate NY.. well not all over upstate just certain areas so far.. the past couple of years so plentiful... always trying to get inside doors before winter... my vac stinks now...

Have found 2 of them in our house in the past year. One was on Christmas Eve right before guests arrived! Had to stop my mom from swatting it.

Nice shot of a stinky bug. Haven't seen one in awhile, used to squash them as kids in AL ... pew!
