Photo Editing Software

Hello! I have a Mac and I would like to get Photo Editing software. On my PC, I had Photoshop, which a friend gave me...she was a graphic designer. Anyway, I don't want to invest that much money on Photoshop for my Mac. I am looking into getting Adobe Elements. Is this a good program? Everything I have read, says that it is just as good as Photoshop. Anyone use this with their Mac? Does it work well? Thanks for any feedback!

There are a lot of free programs you could try first. Iphoto will let you do some basic stuff.

elements is photoshop...so if you like phototshop...you'll like elements. They're barely different for most tasks.

For plain photo editing though...Lightroom is much more useful. (makes workflow a bagillion times faster)
