Selective color is a post-processing technique in which an image is converted into black and white, leaving some parts of it colorful. Selective color is used when a photographer wants to emphasize on a particular part of the image.
Below is an example of selective color image:
Here are some simple steps to make a selective color image. Please note that there are some alternatives to make a selective color image. You can also use different software.
1. Open an image in Photoshop CS3
2. Click Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Channel Mixer
3. Tick Monochrome
4. Click the 'X' button on your keyboard to set the foreground color black, then click the 'B' button to select Brush Tool
5. Start coloring the object you want to give color to
After you finish coloring, then your selective color image is complete and ready to show.
