Hey folks! I haven't posted in here, but I'd like to get some feedback on my photos. Took some pics of my twins this weekend. Just wanted to get some feedback. I kept it torso length (without cropping) to get a better understanding of the background. So, fire away folks.

I am not very good at portraits myself so please take feedback with a hefty grain of salt. I hope some of the people shooters in here will weigh in. I know you kept the background on purpose but I think the background is actually rather distracting. Your exposure and sharpness on the kids is good but the background is too busy and takes the eye away and on the second one it is tilted which also is a distraction. I think it may have worked better to crop for portrait orientation and much tighter. #2 looks a bit more candid to me with a cuter smile and catchlights in his eyes but both boys look like great subjects for your photography!

At this size, it's really hard to say anything about the faces but putting them in the middle of a landscape aspect ratio doesn't really work here.
There is just too much clutter in teh background that isn't OOF enough plus you need to work on getting them relaxed to give you real smiles.

Those don't look like they're full torso, more like mid-chest. I have to agree about the background-you have to work on keeping the camera straight as well. Those horizontal lines are a dead giveaway that no tripod or monopod was involved.
