Photoshop and Ebay

I have seen Adobe Photoshop CS6 on ebay for sale for much less than retail stores. The descriptions say it is sealed in manufacturer's wrapping, has UPC code and has not been registered. Are there any risks buying the program this way? Has anyone else purchased their Photoshop this way?

You might want to see if the package says "Extended" on it. That's the version for students and teachers so unless you are one of those it would be useless to you.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! Be careful what you buy!

Adobe's EULA for Student/Teacher editions prohibits re-selling the software. Transfer an Adobe product license
To activate Student/Teacher Editions, one has to provide Adobe proof of qualifying student staus before Adobe will provide a license key.

Ebay and Amazon.com routinely delete auctions/offers to resell Adobe Student/Teacher editions.

Several places were running one-day specials selling CS6 for $250 a month or so ago. I've been expecting to see some showing up on places like EBay and Craig's List. Good to see that I wasn't wrong.
