Photoshop Plugins

For photography? OK, top 10:

  1. Viveza: (Forgot this in the 1st list but it's #1 - A little pricey at $250 but I'm still getting educator discounts :D)
  2. AutoEye: Automatically improve digital images by rebuilding color detail, sharpness and image vibrancy.
  3. RealGrain: Simulates grain patterns and the look of film grain
  4. Portraiture: Removes imperfections in portrait shots while retaining important picture detail
  5. Noiseware Professional: Noise reduction plugin
  6. Noise Ninja: Selective Noise Removal
  7. Genuine Fractals 5: This is a sophisticated image enlargement plug-in.
  8. MaskPro: More automatic and different type of masking than/for photoshop.
  9. SuperBladePro: Surface and texture generator .
  10. Focal Point: Selectable shapable focus and defocus area processing. Also see this link for more info.

My favorites are:

#1 - Imagenomic's Noiseware professional, even better than Noise Ninja, but not by much

#2 - Nik Sharpener Pro... best sharpening program I have tried, but its not the solution for everything. I still use smart sharpen now and then, but 80% of the time, it does the job better than anything I've tried in the past.

#3 - Nik Viveza. Very handy!

#4 - Nik Color Effex Pro. Has many nice effects, but use them judiciously.

#5 - Nik Dfine noise remover. Used for those times when you want very subtle noise removed with very little loss in final detail. Does this better than even #1, but when it comes to larger amounts of noise removal, #1 is better.

Thats pretty much my top 5 list.

Awesome, I'll look into those. Thanks!

I recommend the NIk line of filters,

Also fractals is great when you want to blow up an image.

Tiffens is great for vignetting,

fluid mask is great for green screen editing.
