Pics of 6 year old girl

Looking for honest c&c regarding holiday pics of co-workers daughter. These were done gratis (bottle of wine) and I just used a speedlight or ambient light. I'm a part time wedding photog (2nd and3rd shooter) looking to improve skills and possibly branch out on my own.

The thing that strikes me most about these is how tightly they are framed. #2(Dog) would have been a been a wonderful shot if you'd opened up a little more. Likewise in #s 3 & 4 you've cropeped bits of arms off here and there which, IMO really detracts. If you need to crop limbs, do it boldly and not at/near a joint and NEVER along a lateral axis!

Totally agree with the above statement. Although I've got to say they looks nicely exposed and sharpness is also good.

I know you mixed both ambient and flash but fluidity in style tells a stronger story =). Besides the crits they're pretty solid.

Thanks. Totally agree on the crops, I need to watch that. The one with the dog was totally impromptu and I cropped so as to remove her moms leg which was touching her side. I should have recomposed.
