Playing wtih new lens..... 85 1.4 :)

So I just purchased this lens and I am trying to get used to it.



I had a friend bring her daughter to my kids soccer practice to do some shots....



1. 2.2 1/800 ISO 320 (grrr I must have hit the ISO on mistake....)

2. 2.2 1/800 ISO 320

3. 2.0 1/500 ISO 200

4. 2.0 1/500 iso 200

5. (sort of an out take but I really like it)



2.0 1/1000 ISO 100

6. 2.0 1/1000 ISO 2000

would love cc on color.



The angles are not the best but I had very limited range due to 5 bazillion kids soccer on each side and behind....

The colors look great, maybe a little off on the skin in 3. They look really soft though, did you go over the face in post, the eye brows seem like a surface blur or something went over them. I like 2 and 4 the most, great kid expression.

nope, no surface blur. I edited these in LR 100% They are not soft at all but they are linked from facebook, so maybe that is it?

She has blond eyebrows that are hard to see in real life .

So jealous! I've heard amazing things about that lens!

Love the pictures. I don't think the outfit is a fail! Maybe that's how she likes to dress and her parents wanted to capture her that way?!?!

My daughter likes wearing a Clifford the Big red dog outfit all the time with rain boots, a wand and fairy wings! she's 2 and doesn't have the best sense of style!

Seems to me you leave too much dead space in 2, 4, & 6.

Really like #3 but would prefer more DOF.

Which 85mm did you get? I love my Sigma 1.4! It takes some getting used to though, still learning how to shoot with mine
