Words can also be cold and harsh things, much more so than the person intends them to be; especially if they are discussing something in a critical nature. The lack of facial expressions and body language online can trip many people up as their text words appear far more direct and harsh when they mean only to exchange information/thoughts/viewpoints.

If you wish to leave you simply need to change your profile email address to something random (so that you won't get any emails from the forums again) and then simply log out and delete any bookmarks you have of the site on your browser.

That said you've hardly been here a month, give it time it always takes a little to get used to a new community of any kind (be it forums or out there in the real world).

Actually most of the people around here are. A few hard-cases, true, but all-in-all a very good bunch of people to be associated with.

I had a moment very similar to yours and I stuck around. I am very glad I did. There are people here who are very free with their hard earned knowledge.

Every once and a while you'll get a good laugh too.

Most importantly though this site has taught me to remain emotionally detached from my photographs which has helped me analyze the merits of each photograph and each photographs flaws much more clearly.

This place is kinda like New York in Blue Eye's song: "If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere".

You may take C&C here as being harsh and critical. But it's typically brutally honest. If you came here looking for critique, you most likely got the truth. And if you can't accept honest feedback here, you ain't gonna make it out in the real world.

So thicken up your skin and stick around. Once you do that, you may actually have some fun!

You just have to remember to take what people say with a grain of salt. Keep in mind that most of us here want to help you as much as we can and that means being honest with you whether the image is good or bad. It isn't a personal attack. Back to the grain of salt thing, what I mean by that is that you still need to create images that YOU enjoy. Take our CC and create YOUR own style and have fun while doing it.
