Portable high GB fast running Mac?

How portable vs how fast.

The MacBook Air is vary portable but not as fast as a MacBook Pro. As for high GB that is also going to cut into the speed of the machine, SSD drives are not as big but they are vary fast.

Ok thanks. I'm not that computer savvy so I don't understand most of this stuff like that SSD term

Since you are shopping in a single brand and one that lines up their models pretty consistently....

Buy the highest end you can afford... save the cost of maxing out the memory and Max it out.

PS> My info is old... but SSDs were faster in read but slower than conventional in writes. IMO, they are over kill for most typical consumers. Especially when a lot of photographers on the run will fill their limited capacity fairly quickly.

Ok thanks. I'm not that computer savvy so I don't understand most of this stuff like that SSD term

SSD = Solid State Drive. They use flash memory so there are no moving parts. They can access data much faster and because they have no moving parts they are less likely to fail.

Since you say you are not computer savvy I think you should make a visit to the Apple Store and talk to a them about your needs and they can help you know which machine will be the best fit. If you are using it for business at all ask to talk with someone from the business team.

Yea that makes sense, I just want to go all out when I upgrade from my cheap Toshiba haha

Yea that makes sense, I just want to go all out when I upgrade from my cheap Toshiba haha

If you really want to go all out and you are ok with a desktop then look into an iMac they have much faster processors and better video cards. Much more bang for the buck.

Eventually I'll have one of those, I currently can't run from laptops haha. When I get a place of my own I'll probably get one

FYI- You might not like processing pics from the laptop compared to the iMac. Both screen quality/size, and processing power will suffer on the laptop

If it's a hell lot better than I have now then I don't mind it
