Possibly. If she's shooting JPEGs, you'll be OK. If she is shooting raw (.NEF) then you'll need software that can display it, like Nikon's NXView, Photoshop, or Lightroom. For Mac, iPhoto will read the raw files, as well - I can't say what Windows has. The Nikon software, if you need it, is free and available from the Nlkon website.

BTW, Nikon has a codec that can enable you to view (not edit of course) NEF/RAW files using Windows Explorer. Also, you can import NEF/RAW files using Explorer but obviously without the codec you cannot view the files. It is a handy tool from Nikon. Using ViewNX is still better and if you do not have a CF card reader, a direct cable connection and ViewNX can transfer your photos. Haven't tried if Windows Explorer can import files directly from the camera though without the software.

Lots of computers have a CF card slot now, anyways. My iMac and my HP laptop both accept CF cards directly.

Yeah, check your computer, you may have one if your computer is older. I miss that. My new ones have a slot for SD cards but not CF cards.

Well I guess older computers (laptops?) did have CF slots. Well I missed that.

Must admit i haven't seen a pc or laptop with a CF slot, (maybe i haven't looked hard enough) Both my laptops have built in readers that accept SD and XD cards
