Print ratios

Hello all,

I am new to photography and have a very basic question about printing ratios. I found the ratios for a 5x7 (7:5) and 8x10 (5:4) but what are the ratios for printing a 12x18 and 16x20 photo?

Rich, welcome to the forum.
5x7 has a ratio of 5:7, and 8x10 has 4:5 - so the other way around. In fact it is just pure maths.
12x18 is 2:3 and 16x20 is 4:5

You are welcome . It wasn´t really wrong, just turned around. I mentioned that to give you an understanding how a ratio is calculated. The long side of the print is the long side of the image, so the bigger number always have to be on the same side of the fraction bar.
