Rachel - Beautiful model, solid shoot.

At about 9:30 last night, I suddenly had an urge to do a photoshoot. Next thing I knew it's midnight and I'm shooting in downtown alleyways with a beautiful model! We were going for a cross of glamour, and a slightly grungy feel.

I hope you all like the results, the last is what I'd consider one of my best portraits yet (taken with the Canon 17-40f/4L) and was used for this week's photo in my 52 Weeks photo project. I thought I'd post the rest here to see what you all thought as well!

1. The model loved this one. Personally, it's not my favorite of the bunch. Went for strong shadows and almost invasive lighting by just using a bare flash.



2. Ok, now we're getting somewhere!


3. My absolute favorite from the shoot! A single umbrella held loop left as I shot with my right hand. The alley lighting did great things for the wall behind her, which perfectly matched her eyes.


All taken with the Canon 70-200 f/4L IS USM, except for the last one, which was with the Canon 17-40 f/4L

Nice series; I'd like to see some variation in her expression however. I very much like the lighting in #4, but the elbows projecting out of the image toward the viewer are doing strange things to the perspective IMO.

I like #1, nice shot.

#3 is extremely strange looking. It looks like her head was pasted onto someone else's body. Weird.
