We are need a professional or semi-professional model, for a 2 hour shoot. This will be for a local photo class.

We have never hired a model. What is a reasonable Pay rate for a Model? (I know that any model's rate is based on the model + their experience.)

Some basic round numbers would be helpful.

Thanks

A model that i knew of do it for $60 for the first hour then $30/hour for the following hours. For nudes she rates same for the first hour and for the following hours $50. But if you browse around Welcome to www.modelmeyhem.com you'll find models that do "TFP"(time for print) or "TFCD/DC"(time for CD or Digital Copy) Models usually do free jobs especially if the concept is different or if the concept is outrageous. Aside from Unique concepts, they also do modeling for free if you give them free transpo on location, free makeup artist, free wardrobe and free food/drinks/alcohol. :)

That's rather like asking how much a car costs... A 2011 Porsche is going to be a LOT more than a used Lada. As you already mentioned, the model's experience plays a huge part in the price they command. In my area, I would expect to pay something in the $50-75/hour rate for a model suitable for this sort of work.

go to model mayhem and you could probably find someone will to do it for free pictures.

If this is for a class I would pay her to make sure they show up. How much is the class and does that include some kind of release for the model or will that be another charge? You want to make you momey and pay her for her trouble and at the same time make sure everyone has enough time to shoot her.

You seem somewhat naive.

One of the keys is that it's for a class, not just one photographer. How many in the classs? Where in Texas? If it's Carrizo Springs you won't find much to choose from, and it won't cost much. If it's Dallas, you'll need a thicker wallet.

I would contact an agency, rather than use Model Mayhem - a well named source of: often un-reliable, mostly unskilled, un-professional, wanna-be 'models'.

Tell us. How much of your money can we spend?

I hired a personal tranier for a fitness book I'm writing and paid her $150 for the 2 hours we worked, she never asked for the money, but I don't work that way, if I am using someone for a shoot where I will make money I just say "so is $150-200 ok" I think most models have set fees.
