I'm a newbie with a Canon EOS 20D. I'm looking to spend less than $100 and find one that has a fast recycle time. Thanks!

low budget + high expectations...nothing to go wrong there.
not overly familiar with canon but...

we only use nikon speedlights on our cameras (sb700's) so i dont know much about third party flashes...but ive heard that Yougnuo flashes are good from pretty much everyone that uses them.

The YN 560 has a decent refresh time if used at around half power or less, which I find acceptable in most cases. It's not pro level but a nice starter.

I think you can plug in a battery pack as well.
