Sapphire Pendant.

work in progress.
wanted to keep this a little darker. added some vignetting, seemed like a good idea at the time (not really sure im digging it though)
had to crop way too much. (100%) it kinda kills the image. im thinking this might work better with a macro lens? maybe 1:4? (don't have a macro lens anymore to test)

i dunno....you ever have one of those ideas that you really think is going to turn out well, then you get halfway through processing and realize the idea looked better on paper? and no matter how much processing you do back and forth it just isn't going to turn out like you envisioned?
yea...this is one of those.
I may revisit this idea some other time. for now though, im burnt out on it.

i cant even begin to tell you how many times i tried to fix that pendant. it just did not want to stay put.
maybe next time i can tack it down with some super glue?

I see where this is going and could be great pic.
To straighten the pendant try shortening the chain an 1/8"-1/2" and that would allow it to lay flat just above the cleavage.

I'll second the chain shortening. Then maybe turn the lady so that she'd have to turn her head to her shoulder to look at you.

....it would make her huge tracts of land look less like a butt..

I'm not sure it would have the same impact on a shorter chain. Try some Blu Tac.

I think the issue here is the fact that the garment is causing the jewelry to behave that way. I suggest removing the garment, taking two steps back and then retake the photo.

could you please come by and help with this? im having a hard time holding everything in place and taking the picture.
it would be much easier if I only had to take the picture.

Get some Blu Tac, plumber's putty or similar. Make a little ball of it and use it hold and position the pendant right where you want it. Use enough so that you can push down slightly to hold it. Also make sure that the model is standing still and straight/vertical and that your camera is parallel; there's a slight angle in both of these images, more pronounced in the second.

yea, i was trying a few different angles of approach.
I took some straight on, but either the pendant was OOF, or I didn't like "the lay of the land"...so they got tossed.

this really looks much better in my head...
for some reason I just can not seem to get the image from my brain to the screen without ****ing it up somehow.
