School Photography

Hey everyone,

My school has a club for the student magazine, and it has a photography position, thoughts on if you have ever done it yourself, and if so what was it like?

I've never done that but was on the school film squad. We didn't shoot poictures or movies only played film movies with the school's projectors. But it was a great first experience with film and movies.

Regarding, your question specifically, jump at the chance. It will give you a lot of experience and exposure.

My guess is that it would be similar in scope to the yearbook...

I was on the yearbook staff for a couple years. We had a full staff of 20 photographers split into sections (Sports, student life,etc.) it was fun. Deadlines could get a little stressful, but seeing your published work and knowing it will be seen by thousands is always worth it in the end.
I go to a large 5A school with maaaaaany sports and extracurriculars. Is there only one photographer position because that could be A LOT of outside time and traveling to sport events or plays.
