OK....so I have to vent just a little bit. I set just outside of the secretary area at my office...and she's only been here for a couple months but she is so completely awkward on the phones it's unreal. It was fine for a while when I was thinking that she'll find her groove, but nope...i think that's just the way she is. I sometimes wear headphones to drown it out but it is so bad. I do creative work here too and it's really hard to be creative when I'm so annoyed with listening to that all day......

Yeah, I've been wearing headphones the past couple of days because I just get so sick of it.

Derrel, you make a very good point and I've considered it, but I'm somewhat new here (6 months) and I don't really want it to come off as complaining. The owner of the company has actually been here the last few days (which doesn't happen that often since he usually works from home or is traveling) and has been within listening distance this whole week so I'm hoping he will realize it and do something about it. If he doesn't say something it doesn't seem like I should does it?

He's inferring you could be ultra sensitive or something... I would just learn to get use to it, there's always going to be someone at work that annoys you or does things you don't like. I've dated girls that I literally could not stand the sound of their voice, true they were short lived relationships but just to make it past the first 30 minutes I should have gotten an award. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

shooter, thanks for the clarification. Yeah the sound of her voice really is annoying too. That's hilarious what you said about making it through the first 30 minutes haha. Oh the things we go through.

cloudwalker, I would have to say that I'm not sensitive to these things, but of course I'm a little biased it is one of those things that's tough to explain unless you sat and listened to it...every...single...day

To further clarify...the things that get to me are when she says 'ya' to people instead of you, it just really sounds unprofessional. And, 'you have a good one' instead of "have a good day". Things like that and just being overall awkward. Again, tough to explain without hearing it but oh well...I really like my job so I'll just have to shift my focus. OR just wear headphones ll the time

In college I was a teller at a drive through bank. Whenever a younger, less experienced teller came to me to see if they could cash a check with insufficient funds in the account my first question was always "what does she look like?" :lmao:

Haha...not really no. I wouldn't say she is unattractive, but she's not attractive, and definitely not hot.
