To be honest, the first one looks a bit like a snapshot. In my opinion, there's too much of everything and the light is bland (I'm not sure if I'm using this word properly ). What I would do is put the camera on a tripod and try to make a long exposure of rocks and water only. If I couldn't get near the stream, I'd use telephoto lens.

The second one is more interesting. I would try to include the whole tree on the left. I would also go more to the left, so the fence is symetrical on both ends of the photo. If you had an ND filter, a tripod and a clouds that move, I think that long exposure would work great with this scene.

i do have an nd filter but its only a .9 and its so bright that i cant really that that long of an exposure. the first one was taken with an nd filter so i could try and get the moving effect but it was still pretty bright out. thank you for the suggestions
