Normally, I'm the guy behind the camera not in front of it. But yesterday, I decided to something a little different. I decided to shoot myself! I used the 2 second timer and a wireless remote. I got the inspiration from another member/thread on the Beginner forum and decided to do one. His was weird, mine? I hope not. I tried to be...artistic? Haha.

So here they are, let me know what you think!

1. Gunslinger.

2. Prizefighter.

3. End of the line.

4. Ashes, ashes, we all fall down.

There's a few more in the set, but this is what I'll post so far.

Let me know what you think.

Dude.. if you want to cheat on the history class.... you dont have to go that extreme. Use a washable sharpie next time.

They let people like you on the playground???

Just kidding, lol. I actually like the look in the Prizefighter but you missed the framing. Go back (if they'll let ya) and do it again.

:D

Hey, I got to ace that exam.

Haha, there was no one there. It was super early in the morning at the lake.

Oh, I know I missed the framing. I just like the look of it. I'm going to reshoot it though, don't you worry about that!

the only one i like is #2 if you had included your hands, your knee, straighten the horizon etc. Too much space on the top.

No Naked cereal box? I'm not wasting my time looking at these then lol

Seriously though, I do have one question. What is with the headphones in every pic? I don't think cowboys had headphones >.<

C&C wise, I don't know if its the BW conversion or the shots but the sky looks blown out in most of them. #2 I think should have had the close up framing of #3. #3 I like the best, shows emotion.

I would say #3 is your best shot.. nice and moody...

#1 too contrasty.. needed fill

#2 - good shot... needs a tighter crop, and better light... left eye socket is way dark.

#4 - not bad.. lighting is even, but needs a crop to get you out of center, and to kill a lot of that dead space that doesn't say anything....

I agree, how do I straighten the horizon?

I always have my headphones on, always. There's no conversion, its in camera and the sky is probably blown out.

I agree with you, on the framing. Thank you.

I worked with the light I had, the sun.

Ok, thank you for your advice. I will put it into action for the next shots.

I like the poses in all of these, but you need to work on your framing. There's lots of space around you without any interest in it. I particularly like the prizefighter shot, but would crop all that space out. You also need to sit square on that bench, the tilted wood slats are bugging me!

I took the liberty...

But, even here, the wonky background is catching my eye!

Thanks, that looks way better!

Also I probably should have mentioned that the head on my tripod is the culprit of the tilt. It doesn't sit horizontal or vertical properly, the weight of the camera/lens pulls it down. :(

Ah, ok. Need to get that sorted then!

Also, looking at the new ones you posted, every one of them has the same framing issue. If you put them in any editing program and get a nice tight crop on all of them (paying attention to the Rule of Thirds), you'd make keepers out of almost all of them. The scissors are your friend!

Where is the one where you're banging your sister's teddy bear on your Mom's kitchen table holding a bottle of bleach?

The series won't be complete without it........

Just sayin'.

i agree with most.... they need cropping and the hars lighting is overwhelming. how hard would it be to reschedule. try a cloudy day or set up a flash or a reflector
