Self Portrait Shoot.

First and foremost, I'd like to thank you all for the very constructive criticism. I appreciate it and you guys greatly. It will help me on my path to becoming a Master Photographer one day.

I like the poses in all of these, but you need to work on your framing. There's lots of space around you without any interest in it. I particularly like the prizefighter shot, but would crop all that space out. You also need to sit square on that bench, the tilted wood slats are bugging me!

I took the liberty...

But, even here, the wonky background is catching my eye!

Thanks, that looks way better!

Also I probably should have mentioned that the head on my tripod is the culprit of the tilt. It doesn't sit horizontal or vertical properly, the weight of the camera/lens pulls it down. :(

Ah, ok. Need to get that sorted then!

Also, looking at the new ones you posted, every one of them has the same framing issue. If you put them in any editing program and get a nice tight crop on all of them (paying attention to the Rule of Thirds), you'd make keepers out of almost all of them. The scissors are your friend!

Yes, I definitely need to get that sorted! You have no idea how much my tripod aggravates me! Cheap POS. Bought it for $120, I wanted the $500 one but thought the $120 one would be decent. I was wrong!

Ok, thank you. I'll be sure to try doing that with GIMP.

Where is the one where you're banging your sister's teddy bear on your Mom's kitchen table holding a bottle of bleach?

The series won't be complete without it........

Just sayin'.

Those photos will be coming soon, don't you worry bud.

i agree with most.... they need cropping and the hars lighting is overwhelming. how hard would it be to reschedule. try a cloudy day or set up a flash or a reflector

I too agree. The lighting was quite harsh, but I worked with what I had. Not hard, I'm out at the lake every weekend. I shot the photos myself, so there's no rescheduling to do. Just have to go out and do it!

Ok, I'll try that. How will a flash work for an overly sunny morning? Just for fill I'm assuming to get rid of the dark shadows? I have a silver reflector, but I don't have the velcro to put it on my flash.

Would I still be able to put a diffuser over the velcro if I choose to buy a diffuser some time?
