Senior Portraits

I've come to the realization that I'm kind of a jack-of-all-trades (I say that begrudgingly), and because of this I'm asked to shoot a lot of things that I don't normally shoot....Like senior photos!
These are pretty plain Jane sort of senior portraits. That is what she wanted so I said okie dokie.

I wish that that stupid iron fence/gate/thing wasn't in the back of the gazebo but this is the only place like this in town. We are severely lacking in gazebos and other symmetrical structures.

"Guns up" is our schools sign. Yes, I know, it is very stereotypical of Texas.

The dog wearing the tiny mortarboard is cute, and very well-executed. SUperb background control and posing/framing. The others all look workmanlike and quite acceptable. Simple, tasteful, suitable for all age groups, friends, family, public display on social media. If there's a nit, it might be that the color appears prety highly-saturated on some, and she appears sunburned, at least a little bit. And, since it is April..she might actually HAVE a bit o' sunburn!! Still,overall, good shootin' I think.

Yeah she was a bit sunburned. She actually got the sunburn the day of the shoot while tanning. lol. I managed to make it a little less noticeable on her arms where it was really bad but I couldn't completely get rid of it without having some weird changes to her skin tone.

I agree with Derrel. The shots are good but #3 is just awesome. I hate to say that when you had such a pretty girl to work with but that dog rocks.

I like #6. I would fix the sunburn in the others though. My philosopy with seniors is that if it isn't permanent then get rid of it. i.e. pimples, sunburns, other blemishes. Keep scars and other things that will be with them forever unless they ask you to remove them.

I love them! Excellent focus and background! Number 1 is awesome! I agree, beautiful girl and her doggie rocks. I lived in Lubbock for 4 years in the 90's.
