Sensor Cleaning.. A Success!!!!

Holy lord was it dirty. I did some excessively funky editing on these to make the spots show up... can you tell which one is the cleaned one!?

P.S., I realize there's a super light streak in the top right and about one speck left, but those are easily edited out. The streak is not noticeable unless I mess with the settings to make the image HORRIBLE. So I think I'll chock it up as a win.

EDIT: I just went and swabbed once more, and the streak is gone, and so is that dot!! Completely Clean!!!!



P.S.S. I found like three spots... OH NO! Haha, but really, I can edit those out in a second. I don't even want to count how many were there in the beginning.

what'd you use. My sensor looks about the same right now. I'll have to post the white wall shot i took last night. Spots show up when im shooting closer to f/11 throughout the image. very annoys.

I used the arctic butterfly for a few swipes, and that got a bunch off. But there were some welded spots... so I used the #2 sensor swabs, and ended up using four. Each of the first three left a bit of residue (I think I may have pressed too hard), but by the fourth I got it completely clean. Then arctic butterflied once more to ditch a stray hair.

It was gross! I can't believe I didn't know about it until now. Now that I've cleaned my own sensor... I feel like a real photographer!! Haha

Dam that dirty sensors ha.Good job getting it done. I have not had to clean my 60D sensor yet but brand new out of the box there was a tiny hair on my focus screen that drove me nuts. I took it out and gave a rocket blower blast. Dam canon,how about where a hair net during assembly but Not even sure if it was human hair but it was hair.

Hey I know it sucks going with out the cam if you don't have a second one but I would take full advantage of Nikons Replacement parts. Be nice if they replaced it with the 610 but I doubt that. Don't let nikon get away with it, hold them accountable and get a new shutter replacement.

3500 PSI pressure washer will do the trick.

It's a LOT easier to see the dirt if you shoot something white at about f/11 or so. Overexpose a couple of stops so the meter doesn't turn it gray. Ignore the focus, don't worry about motion blur. I just use a white browser window on my monitor.
