I gotta be honest... if someone told me their camera was "gripped", that would be pretty much my reaction as well.

I thought that's how everyone explained their camera in person when asked.

"Like, Dude, I Totally have a far out gripped nikon D-7-Kay, got that hand strap and ball head action goin' on. you feel me bro?"

I would laugh too, if someone ever said that in real life. However, in my signature, it's pretty easy to tell I have a grip by simply reading the camera name... I'm one of many users here to do this. It's not like I invented this idea...

why not just:

Nikon D7000
Nikon MB-D11

or

Nikon D7000
3rd party MB-D11 (for those that bought the other choice)

Sounds more logical to me... Gripped sounds like 16 year old males talking about their latest HALO toys, or something semi-sexual....

Hell.. my FANCY MB-D12 GRIP cost more than some of the entry level cameras... and I don't wave it around to prove how "cool" I am! Maybe I should... lol! (Ouch! I see it has dropped in price a good bit since I bought mine!)

Well, not everyone is a Nikon freak. I, for one, have no clue what Canon grips model numbers are. I would recognize a Canon 5D Mark III, but I'd have to look up what the grip model number is.

Cripes, most here have to go to Google if I mention a PB-6.

And if I want to brag, I can say I spend more on a FILTER than some have spent on ALL their gear. Damn, I the King of Cool now!

So how is that ANY different from just getting to the brass tacks, and saying gripped? Isn't listing the model/part number treading more on the "sounding cool" lines than just saying Gripped D7000? ANYONE who is into DSLR/Photography is going to know what you are referring to.
