Yes. I'm also barren. Couldn't bring a kid to term if my life depended on it. Fortunately, my wife has that part covered. All I have to do is get the ball rolling, so to speak. Which comes very naturally, for some reason.

My daughter's best friend is about due and she was at our house today. She's a skinny, tall (and very beautiful) lady, with her pregnancy showing up as a very localized swelling, almost perfectly round, and of course, there was the requisite laying on of the hands. Due in about 3-5 days. Might have a Christmas baby.

Oh, and did I mention my wife is a Leo? Try to touch if not invited, and there'll be a limb missing.

I grew up in a fairly tactile society in South Wales, where people touch one another briefly on the elbow, hand, upper arm or shoulder, etc, when conversing. For a dozen or so years I've lived in southern Germany, where people most certainly DO NOT do this. I miss it.

I think "briefly" is the key here. The sort of thing you describe is not too uncommon in most societies (although maybe in Germany ...) but what the OP and others have described is over the top in most societies. I also would be uncomfortable in a place where there is no touching at all.

I try to be relatively unobtrusive, mind my own business ... but people are always touching my arms and asking me stuff, directions, opinions on food and wares ... just stuff. I just roll will it ... I think touching more than a sleeve is out-of-bounds ... hell ... touching even a sleeve is out-of-bounds. (So Dan, who's your favorite team?)

I don't remember this happening growing up ... so maybe younger people have less manners ... or has this always been the case and the internet is making this more apparent to more people?
