Snow Scene - need some help with pp

I'm not sure what I think of this one. I did some pp in ACR, but I'm not sure about the exposure. It does seem a little overexposed, but we were snowshoeing through the woods so it was a bit shady and dark in some places.

What was the subject in this image that you were looking to show us? That is the real problem for me. Snow shots are always hard to get exposed correctly especially on a sunny day. The snow makes the camera think that it is exposed correctly however the rest of the scene is under exposed usually. It can be helpful to have a graduated filter for that purpose.
