Some larger swimming images

Just a few more from today. I should have mentioned that this is an indoor pool, glass ceiling. For many of these I have been playing with an entry level Canon T2i. I told a friend that any camera in the right hands works. I also have to admit that it inspite of the images, the auto focus is too slow, but it is great for doing casual portraits.

Was this an outdoor pool or was an inside one with really strong lights?

T2i is a good camera but does have it's limitations for shooting sports.

I was using a 300 2.8 and may have had the 1.4 on it as well. The last three in the set were all shot with a 1D mkll and a 300 2.8. I wasn't shooting much of the competition with the T2i, it doesn't focus fast enough. I shoot a quick 2-3 frame burst with the MKll and they are sharp, timing still matters a lot in swimming. With the T2i it's like shooting with an old P&S , there is a lag, and by the time it focuse,s the swimmer is gone. It works ok for the free style swimmers moving sideways, not very well for the fly or breaststroke, so anything moving forward. I have two more big meets coming up in the next two weeks, so will play with it a little more. It's really just a playing around camera.
