Thanks, I like that one too. A lot of this was a test in editing. I'm not very good at PP natural light shots like this, so I spent like 3 hours working in Photoshop lol.

Nice shots. The B&W is a good conversion but they're both nice. 3 hours well spent.

The color on my monitor seems just a smidgen off ... a tad too much yellow maybe. I bet in his youth he was an athletic, maybe a linebacker. I like all the images.

Great work Rex! I'd consider pulling back the highlights just a tad, say 1/3 stop, and I wish you'd taken the pens out of his pocket!!!!

For me, the pen and glasses in his pocket make the shot "authentic".

In fact, if he were to turn to his other side, I would fully expect to see a leather holster on his belt with pliers in it.

Great work, lots of character in the eyes ... good smile in his expression. Very comforting, evocative of the wise, southwestern dad. Want to agree re: pens & glasses in pocket, but I see character there as well

I'd agree with Tired that the highlights are a touch bright (especially so on the black and white). Whilst some variation will take place due to different monitor calibrations I think that just taking the edge off will bring out more of the detail and make the brightness there part of the shot without it being a little distracting as it is now.

Great shots otherwise and the brightness there shouldn't be a problem (I can see detail there so you've not blown it out).

Definitely not! That face would look WRONG if you tried to glamorise it.
(Besides which, I don't think Portrait Professional works well on men; I've tried it once or twice and the results aren't worth the effort. PS takes care of young mens' zits much more efficiently.)

Yeah I'm not sure. When I worked on the images in PS they were really magenta/red so I brought in some greens and shifted the reds toward yellow a bit.

Yeah, he used to play soccer at UT back in the 70's. He was a center (defender), because he was big and fast lol.
