When I was at my client in MN and we had tornado drills that was a bit of an eye opener.

Hmmm... You know where this will lead, of course. Sometime in July the southern folk will be dying from 98% humidity and 110F in the shade, trying to stay cool, and the northern folk will be claiming it's too hot at 90F.

However, the short-term is not very inviting. We're supposed to get about 20 cm. (about 8 inches) of snow, ice pellets, interspersed with freezing rain tomorrow. Toronto, according to the breathless newscasts, is getting lots of ice pellets and freezing rain, and depending on conditions, they might announce the end of the world sometime during the morning rush hour. Eh. I'll cover the BBQ, get the snow shovels out one more time, and let the cat in early from her nocturnal rounds. I'm expecting the mess to have melted away by Monday. So, Judi, Ron, how are you guys coping?

It was a wild night for some in STL. Glad you didn't have any damage. We were in the basement for a bit. The winds faded some after crossing the river so our warning was downgraded.

Pshaw. My city was voted worst weather in America by The Weather Channel.

It was 85 degrees Tuesday, snowed Wednesday morning and then at noon it was 60 degrees and melted. F- the weather, man....

Actually, I find it generally takes only about a week of 80+ weather in the spring before the "Oh My GAWD, it's too HOT" starts, usually from the same people who were just carping about how "over" the winter they were. :lmao:

I truly ADORE the heat and humidity--the hotter the better and the humidity just doesn't bother me that much at all. It *affects* me, the same as it would anyone, sweating, dehydrating, etc--but I don't MIND it in the least. A couple of years ago, I had some outside stuff I had to do on the University campus for my job. It was one of the hottest days of the year, over 100, and so humid, you could throw a dry sponge up in the air and it'd be soaking wet when it came back down.
I'd been outside working for probably 3 hours when a friend who is a professor there came by. He commented that I looked like I might not be feeling well, and I said, well I do have this tremendous headache. He asked how long I'd been outside and then suggested that perhaps, just possibly, I was severely dehydrated and overheated. Huh. And it was true. But I'd enjoyed every minute of it. :lmao:

You will never, ever hear me complain about heat. But I will gripe and moan about the cold starting in about October. Sometimes sooner.

Thinking about calling it a day, buses and services were cancelled today but as of now we have gotten nothing but gusty winds, south of us is losing power because of the ice.
They are still saying we are supposed to get hit overnight but I'll believe it if I see it in the morning lol

But the humidity DOES suck. Aint no question about it! Makes storing expensive acoustic guitars a PITA.

At the end of the day I love my state. The women just can't wait for summer.....
