Special memory card for recording video on DSLR??

hi everyone.. I was recently told that I would need a special kind of SD/memory card if I want to record any video with my camera. I have a canon sL2 and plan on basically just recording moments in my babies life..Christmas, birthdays etc. my camera came with a SanDisk ultra 48mb 32 GB.. will this work or should I get a different one for recording video. If so any suggestions?? Thanks!
