A friend has shown me some images he took on a casio QV-5700 with a strange artifact on them.
I hope the attached is clear enough. One was a picture he took of the moon using the full extent of digital and optical zoom. It looks like a very fine maze pattern but if you look closely it's not actually a maze, just a random, angular pattern.
2 are from one session (experimenting with a red laser, I think) (too big to post) and the attached, of the moon, was taken in a completely different context.
I can't account for it. The best I can think of is that its an artifact of jpeg compression of a high contrast, digitally zoomed image, and maybe soft too.
Can anyone shed any light?
