Hello,

My Manfrotto Veloce V camera bag has started ripping inside due to over stuffing. (My tripod is 15.6" and it is only 15") I am looking for a new bag to replace it but don't want to end up with a camera bag that looks like hiking gear. I am hoping to find something little larger than what I have now and not scream "hey Camera bag here, steal me!" nor do I want look like I am some hiker headed to the grand canyon everywhere I go.

This is the bag I have now, in brown. Pretty slick looking to me. Just need something a little larger and with more internal compartments for small things like batteries, memory, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I love my LowePro vertex 200AW,.. But it's probably too "hiker-y" for you, huh?

Yeah that definitely has a little of both things I would like to avoid. Certainly has the camera bag and some of the hiker look to it.

Thanks for the response.

I am doing a 365 day project and pretty much take my bag with me everywhere. Thats why it is important to me to not stand out as camera gear too much and also be somewhat stylish.

Thanks!

People have different opinions on "style" but I would recommend Langly & Billingham bags.

I used a Case Logic backpack that was plain, frumpy looking, and didn't advertise that it was a camera gear backpack.
I did not want it to be attractive to someone willing to take it (and my camera gear inside it) without my permission.

Gucci or nothing.

Current contender, DAKINE Reload

Not uber "stylish" but also not a major camera bag brand

Might be too big, hoping to see what my local (small) camera store has to check out.

Seems a bit over priced... Doesn't it?

No doubt about that. But there are a lot of pricier bags out there.

Just found the Think Tank Street Walker Hard Drive. Little more $$ but found 2 new on my local CL for less than MSRP so working on checking them out soon.

i Just bought this and I really like it for everyday shooting. It's easy to take your camera out quickly, and I fit a good amount of gear in it . It's pretty comfortable and I like the way it looks. It's even nicer in person too. I bought it cheaper on Amazon then on the Lowepro website.

Amazon.com : Lowepro LP36577-PWW 350 AW Transit Backpack 350 AW (Slate Grey) : Camera Cases : Camera & Photo
Transit Backpack 350 Camera Backpack | Lowepro

That is a pretty good looking pack. But a bit on the small side. I am looking to carry 2 bodies, travel tripod, 2-3 lenses and 1-2 flashes. Believe it or not all that fits inside my Manfrotto even the tripod, but just barely!

Yea it definitely wouldnt fit all that haha. I can just fit 1 body, 3 lenses, and a flash

Ok, so instead of a backpack that looks like your carrying around expensive camera equipment, you want one that makes it look like your carrying around an expensive laptop instead?

Hmm...

Lol

After reading this, I just came to a late realization. If your concern is for your stuff not to be stolen, why would you want a stylish backpack? Wouldn't you want something ugly instead? :-P
