I made a lightbox last night and tested it out by doing a macro shot of a whisk from my kitchen, what do you think?

Lighting is nice, not as soft as a true one, but I like the DOF.

Thanks!

The light box was made out of a cardboard box, tissue paper, posterboard, and 2 desk lamps on either side with daylight bulbs. I think I may need one on the top as well, but I was pleased with the results.

It's always good to post a photo of the "Thing" that you would like critiqued. I'd like to see how you made your homemade softbox along with the photo, otherwise it's difficult to critique.

Lighting is nice, not as soft as a true one....

This is a misleading statement. You can get very soft light or hard directional light from a soft box.

Yes you can, but in this application they would be seeking a soft light. I thnk he did well.
