I was out early morning to get the shot of a white wagtail that visits frequently. I took my sx50 as it had more range, but now I wish I had the DSLR in my hands when he came in, this shot would have been so much better. This was still interesting enough for me to post here.
He comes here everyday in the morning and evening. I remember I spoke with him once a few months back, and found that he has a very nice and polite personality. He told me that they profit less than 2 cents on sale of each loaf of bread, and they cycle around the town from 6 AM to 8PM, with little break, to make ends meet. Needless to say, he won my respect very easily. Anyways, here's the pic:

This is nice mate, you can take your DSLR along next time as he comes around every morning I would have liked a little more space in front of him, and maybe re-frame to 'remove' the poles, but that is nit picking. I love the colours in this!

Thanks a lot Gooner, but unfortunately this is at my parents place and I'm leaving tomorrow morning..
I already removed a car from the photograph in post , but it'd be interesting to see what you mean. I've attached the full image, if you want you can show me.

Thanks Maria You may also show me what frame you have in mind. TBH I wasn't really content with the way I cropped it at the end. The yellow is natural though, the sun had just risen and the golden colour was pretty nice

I'd shoot this differently leaving the space in front of him because he's headed it that direction. You shot it with bunch of unnecessary space behind his back.

Oh... I'll explain you better when I come in India for that coffee

What Maria said on leaving more space in front of him. You did a good job on removing the car, the poles should be easy then I like the yellowy feel to it, it depicts the 'early morning/late afternoon feel to it...

Looking forward to that cup of coffee Maria.. And thanks for the points, now that I see it I think I sould have taken a bit more of the front road, and a bit less of the back. But you know how it is with these shots, it's almost impossible to move around freely without making the subject aware of your presence. I didn't want him to know that I was shooting, maybe he'd have smiled/waved or something. But I agree with you

Well he has worked really hard so he has a lot of dough.

I like the fact that his face is on a nice contrasting background it give the shot a bit more depth. Had you shot his a fraction of a second earlier, it would be a weaker shot in my view.
The composition is, well, traditional. Too central for my liking. AS for leaving more space in front of him, which most will do, or contrary to that, leave more space behind him - it should be defined by the background and the rest of the image. The shot is always stronger if you juxtapose the main subject against something in the frame to underpin the composition.

Just as a thought for future such images Rag, consider shooting with a slower shutter-speed and panning them slightly to relieve the static feel imparted by a higher shutter speed. Just enough so that we can see a little background blurring.

I like it. This is how I remember some of India - colorful, old structures, and people going about their life in simple fashion. Love it - nice shot. Yes, shame about the wheel being too close to the post, and the post growing out the bag though.
