The Breadseller

Looks good Raj. Any suggestions I see are already made.

Had you shot his a fraction of a second earlier, it would be a weaker shot in my view.
I see what you mean, and you are right, I guess I got lucky  Thanks sashbar, and I'll keep your other tips in mind as well when I redo this shot once I return. :)
I like it. This is how I remember some of India - colorful, old structures, and people going about their life in simple fashion. Love it - nice shot. Yes, shame about the wheel being too close to the post, and the post growing out the bag though.
Hmm.. maybe if I spend a little more time on this I can get rid of those. Won't be too easy though.. Thanks for the inputs :)

Thanks Rick :)
Just as a thought for future such images Rag, consider shooting with a slower shutter-speed and panning them slightly to relieve the static feel imparted by a higher shutter speed. Just enough so that we can see a little background blurring.
Who is RAG?
 Nice suggestion John, again something I didn't think of doing. Although before I try it, I need to practice panning a lot. I do know the theory behind it but have never really tried it seriously. I think it's about time I did!

Ditto to everyone here.

I like how there's a lot in the photo, but it's all balanced and doesn't take the focus away from him. It gives context but doesn't overwhelm. It kind of reminds me of a still from a Wes Anderson film

Thanks for the nice words Rex. I was worried so many elements would actually harm the pic, it's great that it turned out to be a hit! :)

What an awesome capture! I like the yellow tones, as it tells the story of the man.

I think everything fits together really well. The only thing that's kind of distracting to me is the light pole coming of the top of his bicycle. I don't know how you feel about changing the "reality" of the photo, but I think removing the pole would improve it.

I like it just as it is, although I did not see the automobile that you eliminated. IMO it doesn't need a lot of editing. I do like the early morning light.

I always love your photos, and not only are they always great shots, you have the story of every person in them. It's great!!!

I like the fact that you capture the reality of life around you and the stories behind them. I do like the photo, too bad about the pole though. I do agree with some of the comments. Overall nice shot.

:) Thanks a lot Designer, that means I did a better job with the car than I thought I did :345:

Thank you so much Gallagher, I know how much you folks love your stories so I've got a small one coming either this evening or tomorrow if I can't find the time. :1247:

Thanks spanishgirl, I am now thinking about removing the pole myself and maybe I will once I get some free time from this pointless work!

ok Raj... I decided something...

I'm not going to comment on your pictures anymore. It seems that only I complain about stuff. I won't do that any more. I feel bad.
I guess I could comment on the perfect ones

smiley

;)

I won't speak with you anymore if you even think like that! :hurt::hurt:
You said what you felt, it's very easy to confuse the yellow sunlight with a white balance problem. And yes it is tightly framed too, space was needed either in the back or in the front and I'd add it if I didn't find the gate(left) and the leaves(right) so distracting. You were not wrong, and if I don't see you comments in my threads you can forget about the coffee sessions! :neglected:
And to be serious, we are here to comment on peoples work in an effort to help each other improve. If we only contribute with the nice comments, all we will improve is our own ego! :icon_neutral:

nope

I'll comment, but not critique... I might just stop critiquing everyone else also

and don't you dare taking away our coffee!!!

see... me commenting on your thread ;)

Good decision. Good decision. Just save three phrases:

1. What a cutie!!!

2.This is an awesome picture!

3. Your creativity makes me pee my pants.

And copy/paste accordingly. Or, actually, a random approach would be just as effective. You will be loved, respected and your friendship will be cherished.
